About The ArtistCarlos Arturo Smith was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has always felt that the sacred spirit of nature provides a unique language for each person that heals and transforms body, mind and spirit. The human experience in direct relationship with nature then becomes a source of creativity, growth and wholeness. For over 35 years, Carlos’ art has led him to cultivate strong metaphors that help people discover how sacred forms resonate for them. The labyrinth has become the most significant of these forms for him. His devotion to both nature and the labyrinth as a metaphor for life continue to lead and challenge him to experiment with different media, color schemes, textures and materials to craft powerful pieces of art that are both unique and connected to the timelessness of this spiritual metaphor. With each piece, Carlos’ intention is to create a mirror for the viewer to discover for himself or herself what the meaning of the piece is. His gift is to create art that helps others to discover the truth of who they are so they can then gift the world with their own talents and wisdom.
Carlos currently lives in Longmont, Colorado.
